Analysing the pastures proved to be a game-changer.
A selenium, copper, cobalt and iodine insufficiency was diagnosed which hadn’t show up in the standard blood and liver diagnostics. It wasn’t an outright deficiency, but our analysis showed there was insufficient minerals in the diet being offered to support the level of performance we were expecting, and the level these ewes had the potential to achieve.
This is what we had been looking for… we could answer the question “What’s missing?” and do something about it.
Supporting our ewe’s immune system through correct mineral support was the next game-changer!
